how to uprade stereo?

hi all!! my amp is bad. how can I replace/upgrade my bad oem amp? I already have a new kenwood head unit. I don't mind spending a few hundred to make it sound better.....especially since my wife will quit whining about not having a stereo to listen to on her commute to work(LOL)!!!!

Do you have MID or NAV? You said you have an amp, so you may have DSP. Need more info about your truck.

You'll lose all of your on board computer functions when you upgrade your headunit to a kenwood. Clock, MPG, Trip, etc.

Look into one of these units.

The oem head unit has a DSP button, does not have NAV and I don't know what MID is.

I'm in the same boat, wife's 06 X5 3.0i amp (no dsp) blew, literally, and now we are debating on what to replace it with.

I am leaning towards the MusiCar level one kit (amp & tuning only), but wish I could afford the level two (with rear sub). Check em out, it is quite expensive compared to the $250 or so for a replacement amp but they add a lot of value in preparations, plug n play ability, and tuning.

I ended up finding a used amp on eBay for $275 with a 1 year warranty so I'm going that route for at least a year!!! Lol!!!
