Removing transfer case actuator
Need to replace the actuator gear on an 05 X5. Does the transfer case need to be drained before the actuator is removed or is this area sealed off? What size are the four torx bolts holding it on?
Thanks in advance. |

No need. You might lose a couple of drips, but that's it! I think it's E10 or E12, you need flex head and extension for sure.

Nothing leaks. And search for my thread. I just flipped the gear without taking anything off. Still running few years like that. No issues.
