Oil burning smell

I noticed the smell of oil burning assuming a drip on the exhaust manifold. I replaced the valve cover gasket and it improved but still noticeable when parking in garage. What are some possible areas to check into?

Oil residual is one possible cause. Leaking valve cover gasket is another. I understand that you just replaced it, but there is a tricky part at the back that is kind of hard to do and you might not have gotten it right. You did not tell us which motor you have, and this makes a difference. I'm assuming you have the 3.0L engine.

How long ago since you replaced the vcgasket? It may be residual oil after the replacement.

I made sure to wipe as much oil when replacing the gasket.

Actually my brother said the same thing, but it was December 8, 2015. So, I guess I could still be burning some off.

I had my valve cover gasket replaced in November and I also still smell a bit of burning oil at times. When I check the oil it still remains full. I hope it is just old oil still burning off.
