X5 central locking wierd problem

Hello all , i have a 2001 X5 3.0d . When i buyed the car the central locking worked perfect, but from 1 week i can-t lock the car from the button on the key, just locking from the door lock...i went with the key to a local key shop and they have tested if the key is transmitting when i press the lock button.The tester shows that the key is transmitting something. I have also changed the door locking mechanism with actuator and everything and still doesn t work. The locking button inside the car works, what can it be ?
Do you think i have to reprogram the key , or where to start searching ? Thank you

Had this problem before. Key charges while in the ignition and car is running. Only fix is go for a multi hour drive and when done reprogram all keys. The instructions are here http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...05#post6570605

Hi,and Thanks for reply. I have charged The key but still no luck at key reprograming. The key works great opening The car,also The trunk from big distance but does not lock The car...Tryed today reprograming the only key i have but when i keep the unlock+3 times lock Button (BMW LOGO) it does nothing...Where to search next?? Thank you

I had an issue similar on my spare key. I reinitialized it and it worked well for about another year. Now I'm not able to get it to work any more. There is a thread somewhere here on how to initialized.

Hi, i have tryed to do The reinitialization but it doesn t work...after ignition on and off,when i keep pressed The unlock button and after The lock button 3 times,nothing happens...i tryed all The tutorials here or on YouTube and still no luck,no changes...i think i have to spend some cash for a new key and try it ,and after i will see what-s next ... I'm dissapointed that nobody can give me some more advices because is not The Best time of The year to spend money on The car

Check your door carriers. My door carrier broke and something strange happened. Pass front door, wife yanked the handle and it broke, but she left it in that position. When I went to lock, nothing worked. I couldn't roll down windows either. Something didn't lign up correct in the carrier, because the moment I pushed the door handle back in, everything started working again.
