New Kid Introduction

Hello everyone,

Formal introduction. I've been lurking on here for a few months after buying my E53 last spring. This is my first X, but not my first BMW. Still, always learning new things and this site has been extremely helpful as I have tried to tackle most things myself.

Picked up an '01 E53 4.4i with Sport and Winter Package last spring. Since then I've done the cooling system, front CV joints, X-Pipe, style 87 wheels, H&R front spring and rear links. I picked it up for $4500 down in Portland, knowing it would need some work. It now has a clean bill of health from my local Indy, and I love it more than my wife's E60.

The best part of getting my X5 was that we were in the midst of planning our wedding, yet still she was cool with the purchase and the added nights in the shop. No more buying cars before the wedding she said.. yeah, right. Three weeks later, she wound up trading in her Toyota for an E60 528xi with everything but parking sensors.

I'm in the Olympia area, looking forward to meeting some of you locally.
