the two speakers in the back cargo area passenger side, are the subs. there are no subs under the seats (that's an e46 thing I suspect!)
there are many write-ups in the how to section about how to add an amp to the system. I have the twin sub as well, just haven't amped it yet! busy with other things! best of luck! looks sharp!

Thanks that's what I was thinking but so much info was being tossed at me by like 10 people since I got the X.

Really loving it so far, my 3 year old son just loves chilling in his car seat watching everyone when we cruise

I'm looking to upgrade the stock amp, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm taking it a step at a time so the component speakers and subs will be stock for now.

Re: the doors not lining up, it looks to me like they do, but that the trim on the LHS front door has been off and damaged and/or incorrectly replaced. It needs to come off for the window lift mechanism replacement, for example, and is a b*tch not to damage or bend!

Please add year and engine to your signature. You can get some ideas from Bavsound. Amp depends on how far you want to go with the rest of system.

Sorry thought I had done that, it's there now 2003 4.4, had dsp but replaced stock unit with a pioneer NEX 4100 straight to speakers. The subs are not connected right now though

If the sound system is now head unit straight to speakers, adding an amp will be pretty much a standard install.

As mentioned IIRC the speakers of the DSP system are not standard impedance...but if a head unit can drive them any amp should be able to.

Sub I am not sure, need to check impedance on those and see if the amp you are thinking of can drive them.

If I'd gone as far as replacing the head unit I'd be seriously looking at changing the speakers too if I added an amp.

IME, a Active Ground Loop Isolater is a Huge Requirement - but with any HU change, a good amp is going in...

So the rear woofers in the cargo area were not hooked up when the new unit was put in.

I haven't had a chance to research amps yet and probably won't replace any speakers for awhile. Shouldn't the 6.5 inch woofers be ok to go without a amp using the decks built in amp?
