Help! Car wont start

So heres a little background. 2001 3.0 E53 201,000miles Changed the battery and now the car wont fire up. I hear the starter working, and the fuel pump is making noises when the key is to the 2 position.

I ordered new spark plugs and will put them in tommorow but will a bad fuel pump still make noise? Can it be a bad relay?

Maybe a clogged fuel filter? Im not sure when it was changed.

Thanks for the help, the car is stuck in the garage until i can figure this out.

You only need three things to start: fuel, compression and spark.
Quick check to ensure your ready to start:
Head lamps turn on? Dash lights up, etc?
-What is the battery voltage at rest (nothing on)
Over 12.5V? Fully charged battery info is listed below
When cranking does the battery voltage drop below 9.6 volts?
Fuel pressure can be checked at the fuel rail with a pressure gauge. Pumps deliver pressure and volume. To start, the only thing that is important is pressure at the injectors. We have two pumps to trim the fuel levels. Do you have more than 1/2 a tank?

Start with these and let us know what you discover....

After changing the spark plugs, the car started up!

It now has a crappy idle. I changed the ccv, but i think one of the tubes is not on all the way and is creating a vacuum leak. I plan on deleting the ccv.

I changed the disa valve at the same time as the ccv.

When I drive the car and make a slow turn, the car dies. I have the maf unplugged, which helps, but the idle is still bad.

So my question is, can a faulty fuel pump relay or the fuel pump be a problem too?
