Steering Joint ?'s

Hi Guys,

My steering has been squeaky and clicky/clunky lately. I read this thread:

http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...nt-photos.html

It sounds like my issue is the double joint so I ordered it from ECS. Last night I went to install it and got the old one out. Definitely was the problem. When I inspected the joint is squeaked and did not rotate smoothly.

So I go to put the new one in and I realize that the new one is a hex portion up top, and the old one was a round/square connection. My X is old (build date of 09/2000), so I know some have this old joint. However, I can not find any like mine online to order. Does anyone know the part #? Please tell me I do not need to replace my entire steering column. I lubed the old one up and put it back in and the steering is a little better, but still clicks/clunks when turning.

Thanks for any help.
