Question Audiovox (formerly DICE) Mediabridge: yay or nay?

I'm hoping to modernize my E53 by adding this and supporting MP3 playback and hands-free phone use. I've come across mixed reviews for this particular unit, so I thought I'd ask on here and see what the consensus is before dropping a few hundred bucks on it.

Thanks in advance!

I have graduated from each of the Dice offerings and purchased the mediabridge prior to the Audiovox handoff. I have the Sirius module as well. Never had a problem with any of them. The install takes some time but it is not difficult. I have no problem endorsing the media bridge.

I also have a Grom with the Bluetooth add on. Can stream music from my phone as well as answer phone calls. I also use the usb connection to install a 16 gig jump drive in the car so that I can have music from my CD's that I ripped into MP3 files.

Thanks for the replies. Is there a specific model of the Grom unit to look for?

I have the Mediabridge in my E53 and E39

Outside of data bus interference static issues - once resolved it's been amazing.

I stream Pandora, use my phone, USB media and have a Sirius module. It transforms the entire media experience in the vehicle, bringing it into the modern era.

See my thread here regarding the data line noise.

I'm pretty torn, to be honest.

The Mediabridge is less expensive but I'm not too keen on tapping into wires based on the installation videos I've watched. Unless it's the same for the Grom unit.

Bump... Still torn on what's the better option but I'm leaning towards the Grom option.

I just bought the GROM unit. I've not had the time to install it yet but from what I've read it's clear and easy to use

Only tap that I had to do was to get power for the DSP converter. Otherwise if you just have hi-fi, you just use the 6 pin connector in the trunk of the X5.
There a Youtube video on how to add a Grom to a X5 E53.
