Lower Oil Pan Gasket

Hey Everyone - I have a 2005 4.4i N62 and the lower oil pan gasket is leaking. Doesn't look like too horrible of a job but wanted some advice. I purchased the gasket and was told I needed the 23 bolts that holds the pan so I purchased both for about $40.

Can someone advise on the following?
When screwing in the bolts, does anything need to be applied to the threads? Is there a certain order the bolts need to be applied or can they be randomly screwed in?Does anyone one have a torque spec for the bolts?

Thanks to all who answer.

Just got the parts from the dealer - 1 lower oil pan gasket and 23 bolts for the pan. Can you believe the bolts are not all the same size! There are 4 different size bolts that hold the pan!

Anyway, can anyone advise if the bolt threads need to be treated with anything and what the torque specs are for them?

I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to all who answer.

Hey guys, I'm getting the oil pan gasket completed tomorrow. Was hoping someone could give me the torque specs for the bolts?

I'm an M62 guy, but will look this up for you after the kiddies are in bed. This is where the eBay DVD of TIS is helpful (the BMW technical instructions).

Here is the entry from TIS. Pay attention to size of the screws and the grade (stamped on the head). On my M62, they were M6 10.9 grade.
