It works!
I got a bottle here to NZ for NZ$25 - a bargain. I put about 1/4 of a bottle in the reservoir (after removing a little fluid), waited about a week then de-greased the lines, crimps etc. A month later everything is still dry and clean. I think even the slight weep in the power steering rack end seals might have cleared up too. Amazing... I'm a believer. I figure I'm going to be fixing these items properly once day abut until then...

I am yet to see any reduced oil consumption in my current oci. Will try another interval as I am due for a change in one month.
Currently I use Motul xcess 5w-40, 6 oz lucas ucl on alternate fill up. I have 8 oz at-205 and 1 qt lucas synthetic oil stabilizer in crank case so far, in 7k miles, added 3q so far.

Are you using the same amount of Rotella t6 as well or are you reducing the amount of oil you put in by exactly 2 quarts and 8 ounces?

I first poured in about half of the oil capacity followed by the additives. Then filled up till the dip stick showed the correct level. It took about a quarter or so less than the specified capacity. I rechecked the oil level after warming the engine and waiting for 5 minutes after shutoff and the level was still correct, and has been since then.

Reviving an old thread but I've read this on amazon reviews and bobistheoilguy
"Yes, I FINALLY got a hold of their tech dept. and they told me it is a 'plasticizer' agent which only works on rubber/EPDM type seals, and actually EATS plastic/teflon/delrin?? type seals." Not sure if X5 used any of these materials in powersteering, engine, transmission etc.? I got 2 bottles and put 1 in the engine and the other divided between front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission. From some reviews on amazon they actually had their leak become worse. I'll report back if I notice any difference one way or the other. |

Nearly fours after my post above and ATP AT-205 hasn't eaten anything in my power steering (and it's still in there). I've also used it on a number other vehicles and systems, all to great effect and no (known) damage.
YMMV...

I have some seepage on my oil pan gasket that I'm trying to minimize...so I added a bottle of AT-205 at the beginning of the year. How often do you guys use AT-205? Would you add it at every oil change? Or should 1 dosage be enough?
