^I miss my Avin functionality. Funny though... when I had the Avin, I missed the ability to reset the OBC functions. Can't believe after over a decade there isn't a solution to this problem in the aftermarket yet.

How does the manufacturer of your dash cam expect you to use it in the car if they don't supply a 12V feed? Is it a GoPro or something like that with its own battery?
Cool, thanks.

Not a GoPro, but it does have its own battery. It was a gift.

Thanks for the replies..

Yea, it's definitely 5v, but I already have an old cigar lighter USB charger that I will open up and hard wire in (with the obligatory inline fuse!!)

Again, I don't have the garage door opener option (mine seems a little light on options - no sunroof or garage opener!) but I'm really hoping the harnesses might be in there.

If not, it's routing round the windscreen and behind the dash.. No major issue, I just like the idea of wiring it in locally..

I don't have a sunroof either, but the plug for the UGDO/garage opener is up there. Fairly certain BMW used the same wiring harness if you had the options included or not.

For example, only some X5s had LEDs in the door handle flippers, but if you dig around in the door, the LEDs themselves are there but taped up to the harness.
