Width of 17" Wheel

Need new tires but not ready to change the wheels, so i am looking at my options for the stock 17" rims. Can someone tell me the width of this wheel? I was looking at possibly changing from the stock 235/65/17 size to a 275/55/17 tire - anyone know if I will have any issues with this, other than a slight change in the speedo (.2 mph at 60)?? We really don't do any driving in the snow (because of lack of it), so that is not an issue.

Thanks in advance

7.5 x 17" is the size of the oem wheels as stamped on the inside .
275/55/17 although it will give you +/- the same rolling diametre it will be bulging outside your wheel and not advisable!
Regarding the difference in rolling diametre, this is a negligible .98% and with the 275 you will be riding only 2.5mm lower than stock.Us guys the oem 20"s are riding some 9mm lower than stock,so you are definitely ok.

OK, 7.5 is the smallest recommended wheel width for that size tire, so I will probably just go back with the stock size until I can get some new wheels.

Thanks for the info.
