Vibration sound,help plse

I have a 2001 x5 4.4 buzzing sound from oil housing and is louder on oil inlet hose connected to oil housing.New oil and bmw filter. This is also heard in car only when engine is warm and around 2000 rpm.trying hard to figure out to solve this bad sound.I have pinpointed the sound with a Stethoscope.
From the inside of the car when driving it sounds like a humming sound and starts around 2000rpm and as the car changes gears and lowers rpm below 2000 rpm sound goes away and sound again ramps up.I assume as the rpms climb past 2000 rpm the sound is still there but with the speed the car is driving at, the noise is not heard.I also can create this sound when the car is in park ,neutral or drive.
Like i said earlier on a cold start when the car has not been driving the truck sounds awesome. When the engine warms up my nightmare begins.
Plse if you no whats going on or have had this experience with fix pls respond
Much thanks

Can't tell you for sure, but here's one idea - the housing has a drain back valve that opens when you unscrew the housing and a check valve. One or both may be broken and making that noise. Remove the filter and look in the bottom of the housing to see if the valves are broken or parts seem to be missing. There are several threads here on people that have found random valve parts banging around inside the housing. Of course, valves aren't available separately and the housing with the valves is around $200.

Check your rubber mounting point for the housing as it sound like they have gone bad. The normal isolation properties are no long functioning as designed so the metal to metal vibrations are being transmitted to the body which you in turn hear in the car.

Solutions:
Replace with OE: #5 here is the OE Parts number 11421407441
Oil Filter Mount DIY - BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums
Power Steering ones: 64121365602
Replace with other ideas: Vibration Isolators and Vibration Control Products | Machine Leveling Mount | Vibration Mount, 2 Threaded Studs, .79" Dia, 15mm H, M6 x 1.0 Thread | B831512 - GlobalIndustrial.com

DO NOT BOLT DIRECTLY TO BODY W/O Rubber, otherwise be prepared for more weird vibrations and sounds, plus the lines will break sooner or later.

Go with the aftermarket ones from Global as the pricing on the OE ones will make you faint. (Hint over $24)

valves

Yes the drain valve 3 tabs are broken, but the filter holds it down.the other one has them all broken as well but as long as the retaining ring is in which it is, there is no way for the valve to pop out .Do you think that would still cause that noise?

You do know that you can test the noise by simply unbolting the filter housing from the fender and driving it, right? The anti drain back valve built into the housing has not been a source of issue with most owners, while the mounting isolation issue has effected every BMW that has these mounts.

Now with the 4.8is we get the whole thing shoved under the engine near the bell housing to work with. BMW IMPROVEMENTS
