HVAC buttons replacement

Guys, ordered the OEM panel with buttons from FCP, but I'm reading conflicting info online.
Some say panel is only to hold the buttons together and you should pop new buttons out and replace the old cracked ones, while others on YouTube and other forums say the panel itself should be replaced.

How do I go about doing this? I have 3 buttons missing and I wanna get it right the first time.

Thanks

Bump. In the process of fixing these. Anyone got any experience switching these out?

Never mind guys. Figured it out. I guess the panel supplied with the buttons is only to hold them in place and show you where they go. In terms of finish, the plastic is not as smooth as the one on the car.

Popped the buttons out by lifting the bottom first then out.
Installing is top first, then bottom. Done!
