Here is a video of the car cruising up to around 100 at about half throttle. It's hard to hear as I filed it on my iPhone. I'll post another video tomorrow of the motor at idol.

Doesn't seem noticeably loud to me.
If you think it's noisy at idle, suggest you post a clip of the engine idling, with the bonnet/hood raised.
That way there will be no road noise, etc. to mask any mechanical sounds.

A seized fan clutch, or aux fan that's always running will make the engine sound loud

For what it's worth, once I got my wheel bearing fixed, I noticed my 3.0i engine noise a lot more too when driving. In my case, I really think that it's because I'm not used to a well built vehicle with minimal rattles, rolling/road noise, or wind noise. It's a relatively quiet cabin compared to other vehicles I've owned/own: Mini Cooper S, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the rattlebox that is my 1996 Chevy conversion van (our vacation-mobile).

It seems very noisy on the inlet side. I'd pull the DISA valve and check it, for starters.

What he said ^. Be careful though as the pin that holds the flap could be loose and it has been known to fall into the intake manifold. If that happens... DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE until you get it back out by removing the manifold and extricating it.
