Possible to enable Acoustic fasten seat belt reminder?

My car is 2004 made E53 X5 4.8is, it seems not equipped with Acoustic fasten seat belt reminder. Wonder if it is possible to make this function enable? If possible, how and what parts is needed to make it enable? Thanks for help!

why would you want an annoying acoustic reminder???
Most people are annoyed even by the dash light.

I absolutely hate the seatbelt reminder. What a persistent nag.

It goes off all the time. Not just when you're driving, but even if you're sitting in park waiting for something or in a drive through lane or you have something on the pass seat heavy enough for the car to think its a person (not much weight)

Unless I had a kid driving my car and they were really bad a t seat belt use, I would never want it enabled.

To answer your question, yes you can turn them back on using NCSExpert.

Ditto...and you probably can get it turned on by a BMW dealership using BMW DIS/MoDiC/GT-1 to access ZKE coding if you don't desire to purchase aftermarket software/hardware that allows you to communicate with BMW's proprietary systems.

The seat belt warning audible alert is a feature that can be enabled/disabled by your BMW dealership.

I wear my seatbelt when I'm driving in traffic or driving enthusiastically.

I don't wear it when I'm backing a trailer, driving off road, driving on my own property, and all sorts of other times where it is unnecessary or inconvenient to do so.

Having a chime blaring for no good reason, especially due to something like a backpack being on the passenger seat, is just ridiculous.

I have GT1 on hand, I tried to use SSS or DIS to search for it but no luck. Can anyone here point me a clearer direction on how to enable it? Thanks!

I have no idea where it would be located (since I don't have the software/hardware)...but doing a google search...I found this info below on an e65 forum.

The poster hd750Li mentioned that he used NCS Expert...and their attempt was the opposite of what the OP is asking here. To turn the seat belt warning ON...you'd obviously select "activ" (active) instead of "nict activ (not active)": http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...06&postcount=7
Yes, it can be disabled -- in SIM module, to disable acoustic seat belt warning:
SBR_BEIFAHRER_SGM (passenger seat)
--> nicht_aktiv (set to this)
--> aktiv (original value)
SBR_FAHRER_SGM (driver seat)
--> nicht_aktiv (set to this)
--> aktiv (original value)
Good luck.

I used NCS. I think it's in the gm3.
