Not surprised. There are many here that found what they wanted without going to Bavsound and I think they were plug and play or very close to it.

Well where I'm at the people are afraid to work on BMWs despite the influx of them that have been coming to ND over the years. I'll be in the San Angelo area for a couple of months so hopefully they'll have something for my X.

Bavsound was a great upgrade from OE but not to the expectations of someone really into high quality audio. Some here have gone all out, others have said they got significantly better quality at the same or less price as Bavsound with other components that were still a basic install.

Yeah I noticed that as well - I should have bought them 2 years ago when they were still around as I have DSP

So when shopping in the aftermarket look for some high efficiency low impedance drivers for the system. The tweeters in the DSP system are 8 ohms so a 4 ohm aftermarket set will work nice in the X5. I went with a set of JL audio tweeters with 4 ohm impedance. Gladen speakers would be a good choice of drivers to consider for the X since they have low impedance applications, high efficiency. |
