Shot myself in the foot
2001 3.0 with the entry level radio. Had scratchy AM reception so I went into the radio setup and changed a setting. The Lady of the house says I made it worse.....not a good situation. Any body know what the best settings are?

Dont really listen much to AM but if you post up the settings you played around with, maybe we can take a gander at it.

On our '01, AM reception has sucked from day one 15 yrs ago...
Way back when, I had the dlr do some 'fix' to it, and it worked a bit better for awhile but it soon reverted back to Sucks. A not very technical response I realize, but few to none of us here with older E53s have had much luck in making the AM band work good, let alone well. There are a few threads on the topic, but no real help/solution from my fading memory. GL, mD

I have to agree with MD in that the AM band in these vehicles is mostly useless. if I spent as much time driving as I once did the OEM radio would have been in the trash a long time ago.
