style #87 wheels

Hey guys i am going to get some style 87 wheels for my 05 4.4 sport and i was curious if the wheels are going to stick out any further than my current style 132's. Is the offset the same? I really want the flares from the 4.8 but after looking at both cars up close dont see how i can retrofit them. Any input would be appreciated.

Style 87s will be level with your fenders and do not stick out!A lot of us who go up to 20"s dont install the 4.6/4.8 rear flared fenders.
However, some members with the 4.6/4.8 with the oem 20"s and flared fenders feel the need to install spacers to bring the wheel level with the fender.
I must admit that I do like the flared fenders but only on a Lowered X5 and spacers installed.Like you I also upgraded to 20"s from the 19"s and for the moment I leaving the stock fenders on.
To retrofit these flared fenders on to your stock rear bumper all you need is some patience and a Dremel.Theres a recent thread on this.Check it out.

I looked at my rear fender area closely last night on my 05 and the bottom fender part is all part of the bumper. How can this be blended in with a dremel tool it looks like im gonna need a whole 4.8 bumper for the correct look.

Sorry!Dont think we are synchronising !
The 4.8 has flared fenders that fit over the "fender" area of your bumper and over the wheelarch fender. To avoid unnecessary expense in buying the complete bumper ,one can drill holes in the fender area of the bumper and the fender over the wheelarch to accept the 4.8 flared fenders. This is the mod I am referring to!Check it out!
