ULF mit SES and voice recognition

I've retrofitted bluetooth system in my e53, I've installed complete telephone harness, installed ULF module, antennas and performed coding. The question is about voice recognition - if I have 8th generation ULF module called "ULF mit SES" does it mean that I don't need separated voice recognition module? In this case voice recognition should be made by ULF module?

Well done. Have been thinking about this upgrade myself; where did you get the upgrade components from?

Aftermarket - ebay, etc
You've got facelifted e53 hence your car is probably telephone pre-wired so your situation is much better. If you don't have telephone / bluetooth at all, I guess all you have to do is to buy ULF module (the newer the better of course), microphone, antenna, install them and perform coding My situation was much worse cause I didn't have telephone harness, microphone harness, eject box, there was just nothing

I'm hoping you are right but as I have nothing (no BT, no telephone, no eject box etc.) I'm not sure. My understanding is the later BT doesn't need the eject box (with the pairing button) but again, it's hard to be sure until I have something to work with.

Guess I'll be spending some watching eBay (Baywatch? ). Thanks...

I'm not sure if you've got eBay in New Zealand but I'm sure you are lucky guy that you can live in such a beautiful place. I always wanted to live in Australia or NZ
Pairing button is not necessary indeed, you can perform pairing with INPA I'm not sure if it's possible to pair a phone with steering wheel button, but maybe it is.
U have to look for ULF plug on the left side of the trunk, near CD changer, navi and other stuff, a violet-black plug for bluetooth antenna should also be there. Microphone 3-pin plug should be located near front upper interior light.

Thanks scarab. Yes, we can buy from eBay here - and I do so on occasion.

I have been reading up on the cabling etc. on BMWTech's WDS and will check for plugs etc. in the trunk tomorrow - dark outside right now and sub-zero temps, so I'm staying by the fire!

Again, many thanks for the help.
