Reverse light switch - manual transmission

So my car is due inspection at the end of the month, and one item of concern was the intermittent reverse lights. Sometimes a little pressure on the shifter got the lights on, sometimes not.

I changed the switch yesterday, and this problem has gone away. It needed the eleven screws removing from the underbody protection, and with this removed the rather oily switch and connector were exposed. The connector has a metal retainer, and with this removed the switch was clearly worn out with transmission fluid in the connector.

I washed the fluid out of the connector and cleaned up, plenty of IPA into the connector so it's as tidy as possible. Deep socket to get the old switch out - thankfully it is above the fluid level - wipe down, new switch in, problem sorted.
