Well... you can buy all the parts with reputable brands, (such as Zimmermann, Textar, etc..) for about $700.
I guess it takes 7 hrs (100/hr) to finish the job.....

white....maybe us CA $. In USD, I'm thinking around $5 for a f/r set ?
While auto brake bleeders exist, I still prefer to do that followed up by a old-skool pedal bleed. IMO, it results in a firmer pedal. DIY or INDY. I would not use a big brand shop. What's wrong with the indy Mspec u have been using ? |

OP just to be clear so your replacing pads, rotors, for the front and pads, calipers, rotors and parking brake in rear and they are using BMW parts and quouted you $1400 all in?
Thats not a horrible price if you have to pay to have it done with all BMW parts in my opinion. I think brake prices have gotten stupid with these shops gouging the shit out of people for honestly some of the easiest DIY now for cars. |

FWIW you can replace the seal on the caliper without replacing the entire caliper, provided the piston is in good shape.

Tire Price seems fairly in-expensive...
Just going off the cuff $420 per tire Generall about $40 mount/balance from my PREFERRED INDY X2 Add another $160 or so for a alignment Not sure where the #'s play or how OCD you are, but Redline over in Greenbrook is my go to shop for tire/wheel services. Might cost you a bit more than Mavis. But then again, Mavis has got some killer pricing on tires. I only know this as family came over and got one of their sidewall punctured. Tire size was one of those usual 20" not in stock sizes. They decided to do all replace all 4 corners and Mavis cost per tires was $40 less PER tire than than even Tirerack, which I found surprising. |

with this - Redline is a great shop if you need the work done and their tire balancing is fantastic.Debating overhauling my brake system (sensors, pads, rotors, parking brake shoes and hardware, caliper seals) preventatively just so I don't get seized calipers in the future and although it may take me a weekend to DIY I should be under $500 for all parts.

I got all new Centric rotors and pads for $302 + free shipping on Amazon. Two sensors @ $14 each brought it up to $330. My independent mechanic charged me $180 for the install, but he was also installing two new control arms and ball joints.
Centric E-Coated Premium High Carbon Rotors: Front 125.34050 $54.20 Rear 125.34051 $52.49 Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic Pads: Front 105.06810 $52.64 Rear 105.06830 $36.38 Total = $302.40 http://www.xoutpost.com/1056931-post76.html
