BMW Airbag Recall - 3 Series, 5 Series, X5

BMW has issued a recall for 28,577 of its older-generation 3 Series, 5 Series and X5 vehicles as part of the ongoing Takata airbag recall. The notice affects the ‘E46’ 3 Series, ‘E39’ 5 Series and ‘E53’ X5, produced between 2002 and 2005.

BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, X5 added to Takata airbag recall:: 28,600 vehicles affected - Photos (1 of 2)

Is there a Thread already running for the Recall here?

Our friends just got a letter from BMW regarding the recall.
Our X5 is a June 2006 build, so it seems to miss out, even though the Airbag light loves to stay on!!

Here is another webpage which sights even more Vehicles, yet seems to leave the E53 models out??

Anyone here already been recalled and had the work done?

Perhaps they have revised it since that thread?

Well yeah the first post is out of date but the thread is 10 pages long and has been updated along the way.

I think this is the most comprehensive list you'll find. Although I think it's mostly US coverage.

Thank you Joshdub

I had actually found that webpage by my own searching the net, it also seems to be different from other lists.
Although its hard to know whom to believe really.
From the site you linked

Quote:
BMW (1,968,283): 2000–2011 3-series sedan; 2000–2012 3-series wagon; 2002–2013 3-series coupe and convertible; 2001–2013 M3 coupe and convertible; 2002–2003 5-series and M5; 2003–2004, 2007–2013 X5; 2007–2010 X3; 2008–2013 1-series coupe and convertible; 2008–2011 M3 sedan; 2008–2014 X6; 2013–2015 X1
Yet elsewhere it says 2005 BMW X5's are affected

I've also found a BMW list on our Australian Government Recall website.
