Part # for foam on front reinforcement plate?

Anyone know the part number for the corrugated foam that sit under the "front reinforcement plate" aka "belly plate"?

All I can find on RealOEM is the plate itself
31101095656
Reinforcement plate

THANKS!

This foam piece is now $220 at dealer lol.

I have left mine out on the garage shelf for a long time bc oil leak is easier to spot and clean without it.
No difference in noise etc.

For those who still want to put sth down there...maybe some cardboard piece cut to fit, then change it once a year to get rid of the cardboard soaked with leaking oil?

Would a thin piece of "stone wool" be a good replacement?

Why did BMW put it down there and did they stop at some point? I’ve owned my 2002 x5 since new and it never had this foam.

It's an acoustic treatment - makes a difference to exterior noise on the diesels, maybe less so on the gasoline versions. At least one of the V8 versions uses a steel plate rather than alloy too, from memory.... not sure if the steel version has an acoustic baffle or not.

4.8is has it on the steel version, but I wish it was on the other side (when I smashed my head on the plate during removal)

Idk about diesel but with the foam piece out, no difference in noise for me
(2006 X5 M54).

I guess if one wants to cover it, one can use an old pizza cardboard box and cut it to fit lol...
Then replace it once a yr, at this age, most of these cars leak oil anyway.
