My X5 just quit smoking habit!

Got my 2004 X5 4.4i back from the Indy shop.
Had all the valve stem seals replaced. Also the alternator seal replaced, and all
needed gaskets and seals.
New set of spark plugs installed also.
Runs so smooth and more power now!

Wasn't cheap, but I figured this in with the sale price.
C'mon, gimme another 100K miles!

The good thing about getting the valve stems done is that you should never have to do this again. The replacement valve stem seals that BMW came up with is a far superior material to the originals. The thing with these X's you have to make a choice. its either you go all the way or nothing on the service/repairs. I love these vehicles and have put far more repairs into the vehicle bringing it to a level that I am pleased with (all the way). Once you get it there you begin to really enjoy these SAVs.

The total was 3500.
Parts and labor.
It's a great price, compared to the dealer.
I feel the N62 motor is a very strong robust engine.
Despite its leaks and faulty valve stem problems, I would give it
high marks for quality and reliability.

If you are DFW area, my man is awesome.

If you are DFW area, hit me up for the number.
Yep that is a good price. Those heads typically have to come off to do the seals and is labor intensive.

I might have to take you up on that if I can not muster the cajones to tackle the seals with the AGA tool kit (it's gotten expensive too ~$1000). Sounds like it would be an excellent investment. That is a great price as well.

Well done. I bet your N62 feels like new.

Wow Greg.

That's a great price on the VSS job.
