Scanner and Reset Tool Options For those without a Windows Computer

What is the best option for a Scan and Reset tool for BMW E53 and E39.

I do not have a windows based computer, mac only.

I need to be able to reset ABS, Check Engine eat as well as read OBDII and BMW specific codes.

I am fine with a handheld scanner, I see some have the Creator 310 type. Any reviews? Any other good options?

Thanks!

You can buy a cheap window computer with XP os for under 50 bucks. I have a Sony Vaio which has my copy of Carsoft 6.5b and BMW Scanner 1.4. I bought the computer on Craigslist for 40.00 bucks. The computer is only used for scanning my BMW.

+1 on easiness of getting Windows for cheap.
I've had AutoEnginuity for quite a few years now and while not perfect, I think it's one of the best bangs for the buck.
It covers Airbag and ABS and it's actuation modes for specific system alow for testing just about anything.
Besides covering all BMW models in enhanced mode, it also covers all other makes in generic mode with option to add enhanced mode for any other make.

I also recently acquired 1.4.0 and it was able to remove air suspension warning light after removing it from my X5.
This one is superior to AE in some aspects but I prefer AE for some other tasks.

If you go with a "stand alone/handheld" unit (like prior post), get one with coding/security functions.

This one is twice the price, but 10 times the tool......

Thanks for the feedback. I'v heard this using the windows software sometimes have issues with it. Probably because its only $25 and quality standards are not consistent.
