Driver door won't open!!

Hi all,
I just found out that my driver door would not open when I was about to go to the store. I had to open the driver door from the passenger side. I looked at the door handle: it looked like the handle was pulled away from the door when I tried to open the door (it feels like the door handle is about to come off the door). So I am guessing the some thing that hold the door handle in place is not working. Has this happened to anybody here?
I lived in S. California before and just moved to Arizona for school about 2 years ago so I don't think I have the frozen door problem. I want to take door panel out and take a look but I thought I should get some feedbacks from the fellows up here. Any suggestions, gentlemen?

Justin.

You definately do not have the frozen door problem living in AZ. But look at the explanation of how to remove the lock actuator from inside the door. You can find it on this site. "Frozen door lock"
