Heated Seats
The short story is yes, it can be done. The long story is that it will take some work and $$$. The best way to do it is to find a set of seats from a salvage yard as the heated sets from the stealer will run about $3500 US each. Additionally, you will need the appropriate harness and center console control switches. The harness and the switches will run in ~ $300. Now comes the fun part, obviously you must remove your old seats and replace them with heated seats. While the old seats are out you must partially disassemble the center console to run the harness and install the control switches. I would not recommend this procedure for your average back yard guy. It can be done but you need to be a fairly good mechanic and have the BMW manuals/CD and the right tools in order to properly install and connect the harness and switches. Good Luck!

quality??) I don't think I'm that fussy. For a new car, I was discusted at the time, had it for 6 months. Maybe I was too nice to her. Looks like it is a hit and miss with the disco's hey?Mat |

I remember this issue coming up on the E36 M3 forums years ago... Back then people were retrofitting the the heated seats by purchasing the OEM coils, and the buttons and then taking the car to an auto upholstery to have the coils installed (remove the leather and put it back etc).... I've never done it.. but if you really want them I would start with the upholstery shops in your area...
