X5 Ignition Switch Removal and Installation DIY

These cars do some weird things when the ignition switch is failing! Finally installed a new switch in our 2005 X5 and made another DIY video. Hope it helps!

Great video. Very easy to follow, with good step by step instructions. I'm curious - why did this need replacing (again)?

Thanks! The ignition switch was failing intermittently. Upon starting the car, sometimes the airbag light would come on, the horn would not work, heated seats and heated wheel would not operate. Seatbelt warning noise would stay on even with seatbelt clicked in. All of these symptoms would come and go, and are somehow related to that ignition switch circuit. Replaced the switch and all is good again!

Wow - didn't realise that so much was related to this simple switch. I'll keep this in mind, should I have similar issues that crop up.
