Daylight Saving Time = Time To Swap Remote Keys

Just a reminder to all that have spare remote keys (especially the diamond shaped new style remotes)...if you've had your remote stored in a drawer unused...you may want to pull it out of the drawer and start using it to keep it from totally discharging. It has an approx 1.5 yr charge life if it's sitting in a drawer unused.

I swap my remotes at each daylight saving time change. This keeps the new style remotes from discharging...and also lets me use the old style remote key before the battery inside of it dies and needs to be replaced or starts leaking. It also lets me know if the old style remote needs a new battery because it will send a warning if it does.

{Time to SWAP the remotes to keep the internal battery charged up or from dying before getting any use from it}

{old style battery will give warning if remote's battery is getting low}

I wouldn't have never remembered to do this (although happened to me once before). Thanks for the reminder!

hey Qsilver, don't you have trouble with those key rings pressing on the hatch button when the tombstone keys are in your pocket ??

I rarely put my keys in my pants pocket. Like right now, they are in my jacket (at work)... if the weather is warm and I don't have a jacket, then they're either in my hat or laying on my desk or in my briefcase. Then if I'm out in public...I usually keep them in my hand unless I need both hands...then I usually place them in my back pocket for a second (or my jacket or hoodie's pocket).

It's really rare for me to put my car keys in my front pants pockets for any length of time...but if I did...I could see how it could be an issue as you mention.

I also rarely put my wallet in my back pocket either (except for brief moments)...but if you saw it...you'd know why. Because I definitely can not sit properly with it in my back pocket. (LOL)
