Whistling Noise During Acceleration

Hey guys! I've noticed a faint whistling noise on my 03 X5 3.0i. It only occurs during acceleration around 1.5-2k RPM. I replaced the lower intake boot, but that didn't fix my problem. Anyone know anything else I can try? It's annoying more than anything else.

Could be the CCV. Check for excess vacuum at the oil filler cap. If no excess vacuum then it's something else. I had a similar problem. Turned out to be bad serpentine belt tensioner and idler pullies. Sounded like a flute accelerating through the RPM range you describe.

Have you checked the entire intake for leaks? Had this issue on an e39 and the intake manifold had a small (and I mean microscopic) crack.
