Wiring Schematic for 2006 X5 Mirrors

I have been trying to get WDS to work to no avail. I even joined the xoutpost premium membership to get access to the online references to find that the diagrams are the same WDS as offered elsewhere on the net. I've installed the appropriate JAVA. I've installed the SVGview. Yet, windows still blocks because it cannot verify the (WDS) publisher. I give up.

All I am looking for is the wiring diagram for the mirrors. I want to be able to identify the wires and their colors that control heat, fold, dimming and puddle light.

If anyone can post the page or pages of the schematic, I would be grateful.

Thanks!

You almost always have to use IE for the Silverlight, SVG, and Java stuff to work properly. Always a pain to set up the first time.

I've gotten it to work in other browsers... just always been easiest in IE. Must be 32-bit browser as well I think.

Edit: Was able to see the schematic, will try and capture them for you later if possible.

Yes, I tried, IE, Firefox and Chrome... My two primary PC's are 64 bit. I doubt if I can dig up an old 32 bit.

IE on a 64-bit PC is still 32-bit - at least the normal IE is - you have to use a different launch shortcut/executable to get 64-bit IE.

I have WDS working under 64-bit Windows 7 (using the standard 32-bit IE) with no problems.

The trick is... you have to manually create a Java security exception (a site exception) for the web site you are running the WDS from.

If you run WDS from bmwtech.ru (like I do) then the exception will look like this...

When you launch the WDS, you'll still be prompted to run the Java - just accept the prompt (click Run or whatever) and away it goes.

HTH...

EDIT: The above is absolutely necessary to get it working. Thanks for that wpoll.

EDIT 2: There are at least 6 diagrams associated with the 2 mirrors (the system separates out the functions, heated, folding, and dip/adjust ). I forgot how these are laid out when I was doing my trouble shooting for my light control module. Try the above suggestion as it would really be helpful for you to get it working.

All my PC's are 64bit as well. IE 32bit is built into your OS though... assuming your on a Windows PC. At any rate, I got your PM... will see if I can screen shot the driver's and passenger's mirror diagrams for you.
