I think what 540san is saying is that if you intend to keep the vehicle for some time in the future its a worthwhile investment to change out the air strut system for the coils. A lot less head aches in the future. A lot less gremlins to chase.

I acknowledge that there are benefits of coilovers, however, based on your situation I would not expect a payback.

Bit of a thread hijack but what's the deal with coding after fitting coil overs? Is it just the "self levelling" error that will come up, or is there more?

Seriously tempted by BC coilovers.

It's just removing the self Level error on the dash that's required (or leave it if it doesn't bother you), easily done with bmw scanner. Just remember NOT to remove any of the sensors mentioned in this thread...they control the adaptive headlights also.
