1st Navigation Software Upgrade ?

I was pretty scared to upgrade, hearing you needed hi quality discs and sometimes things went bad. Well I only had Office Depot discs laying around so I used one of those, at 32x. I put it in, and It was installed in under 5 mnutes!! I checked out the difference and the only one I noticed was the map looks differnet. What else changed?
