zip ties to hold larger end of front outer cv boot?nearest to wheel ok?

merry christmas to all, my FRont outer cv boot issues go on, on the Larger end of the bellow(boot) & nearest point to wheel the clamp has come off and cant go back on.....(dont ask please)

Question is can i get away with 2 cable ties (zip ties) to hold the outer larger end of the cv boot? this will just be for a day or 2? any replies much appreciated

I have already done this but not tried driving, first place i drive to is to get a new boot kit (as they dont sell the clamps on their own here!) and then go get it on a ramp to use the one clip out of this pack

I broke an outer clamp and replaced it with a stainless plumbing clamp from Home depot.
It was my intention to replace it - but like you said, you cant buy the clamps separately. Its about 20k later and still holding fine

https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Stainl...v+joint+clamps

Amazon has the clamp for under $7.00 USD. Plus if you are an Amazon Prime member you get free shipping. Don't know if this will apply if you live outside the good old USA.

THANKS for all replies, UPDATE-----zip ties held for a 20min drive and no damage done to boot and no cv grease leaks....NEW garage I took it to had crimping tool for those pinch clamps, & not only replaced the one i destroyed but also the rest as they were not on correctly

When asking for the bill for 20mins of work max plus the cost of those clamps they told me to go on my merry way....no charge, I tipped the guy 10euros and he reluctantly took it.....man oh man the X5 can be a pain sometimes especially when u need it most
