Rear window washer spray pattern

Is it supposed to be a fan spray with a wide pattern?

wpoll will become famous soon enough
Mines just a single squirt/stream to above the wiper - and the wiper action is delayed for about 1 second after the stream starts. No fan pattern.

Mine gets a few inches of fan and a lot of limp-hose dribble. My previous e53 was exactly the same.

Yeap same hear for mine, works but a single squirt/stream. But certainly no pretty fan pattern, disco lights or fireworks. Perhaps I should look into making washing the rear window whilst driving more of an event.

Is it supposed to be a fan pattern?

so funny this has come up, have been pondering and wondering about it for a while. Keep meaning to stick a needle or something in there and try to clean it so it isn't just a dribble

This happend to mine... then I change the rear wiper to an 18in and it cleans the window w/o skipping.

I think the problem with the rear wiper is that often the in-line check valve gets clogged but even a new check valve seems pretty restrictive and only allows a squirt of fluid rather than a spray.
