Is it necessary to renew spark plug pipe when renewing valve cover gasket?

Hi all! My car has been found severe oil leakage from cylinder head cover. I made appointment with my local BMW service center to renew the gasket of cylinder head cover, but the service advisor advised me to renew all the spark plug pipes together with the cylinder head cover gasket. He said usually they would renew the pipes when doing the gasket of valve cover, so he advised me to do it too. My question is that if it is necessary to renew the pipes when renew the gasket as the advisor said? Thanks for input!

We do here at the shop. Nothing worse than doing a big job and find out the spark plug tubes leak afterwards.

+1. Pricy but not worth the risk of redoing the job.
