CCV went bad?

So, I'm driving my wifes X today to run some errands, and the car starts blowing tons of white smoke. Like, enough to stop traffic. All Bond car style.

She tells me it's done it once before, and she ran it hard, and then it quit until today.

I see vids on YouTube of other BMW's doing the same thing, and the culprit is the CCV.

On a 01, with a 4.4 where is the CCV, how much is it, and how hard is it to change?

I did try to search CCV, and it keeps telling me there are no matches. I've had this happen before when searching common things, so sorry in advance.

im doing mine as we speak on 3.0, yours should be very similar
here is a link of what it costs in parts,
Out of curiosity I called local dealers and they quoted 5-7hrs labor on top of cost of parts so its a job estimated for 1200+ assuming no other parts need replacement,

e46fanatics has solid reference video done by 50skid, link below... good luck

Read this thread for M62 - https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...vs-done-2.html

Watch the link to the video, change just the breather part itself and it's a 10 minute job, like shown in the video.

I'm about to do mine.
