Front passenger footwell flooded

The drought is over and now the weather stripping testing has begun. The passenger (right) front footwell is soaking wet. The car was driven a couple of miles in the rain, then parked 8 hours outside, then driven home. It seems like it is leaking when parked. The wet portion is only the horizontal part. There seems to be no water coming from the dash or down the sloped part of the footwell Any thoughts where I should begin to search? Or is this a common enough problem that someone can say "just replace the bottom door seal". Much thanks in advance.

Well if it helps I was having the same problem until I found the hose in the A pilar clogged Also when putting it back careful so u don't squeeze it with the pillar or the water won't go thru which will fill the hose and leak from the connection on the roof

Had the same issue. The sunroof has drains that go into a hose that runs through the A Pillar down and out the bottom of the vehicle. Over time these hoses get old and sag and water doesn't drain properly. I followed the instructions to fix the issue in a thread I found here (but can't seem to find now.) I basically removed the A Pillar cover and zip tied the hose into more of a straight line, also made sure they were still connected to the sunroof cassette by prying some of the headliner away to get a peak at that area. If you start researching X5 leaking sunroof there's a few good tutorials out there.

@Pekeliscious ... is this hose a drain for the sunroof? Also, how did you clean it?

P.S. looks like I have found a water outlet hose from the sunroof on realoem.

That's exactly what i did to fix my flooded floor both driver and passenger, i went further and cleaned the back ones too. Glad i helped good luck..

+1 on roof drain situation. I had similar happen once but I think it was a tree seed and it worked its way out. I would love to know the best way to "rooter" that line though.
