Rear lower spring pad/mount

The dealer says my left rear lower spring mount is bad. And I thought it was the subframe bushings.

Anyhow, assuming they meant spring pad and not mount, it seems like it is a 13.00 part for me plus my free labor or 192.00 to them. Is this hard to DIY? My guess is I will have to remove the spring which does not look fun and if so, I am thinking it is best to wait until I do some suspension work.

Any thoughts?

Shouldn't be too bad. You shouldn't have to remove the spring. Either compress it or pull the integral link out and have push down on the knuckle to make enough room to get the seat out.

Hey thanks. Will I need any special tools to do either of those things?

I guess I should add that this is for the 5mt e53.

Just some big A$$ sockets and wrenches. 16-24 if I remember correctly. I spring compressor would help, but the access is somewhat limited.
