With all of the privacy glass back there why would you even need this shade system? Plus there are no passengers in that part of the vehicle.

These consider to be another unicorn parts as they are NAL from the dealers.
I paid $100 for a set last time. They helps bring down the heat back there, in summer time.

There are lots of aftermarket ones out there, but these are actually from BMW.
The aftermarket ones the rear cargo window is separated into 2.

Sure they aren't really needed, but its a unique item to have especially if you have the factory rear shades on the doors, this completes the set.

100$ was a steal TMV

I remember paying $85 for the rear window screen from an eBay seller 8 or 9 years ago. It was the BMW part and includes a storage bag you can coil the shade up into. They reduce the temperature a bit, but I think the bigger benefit is reduced fading from the sun.

I've never seen those rear side window screens though.

I didn't even know those were a thing. I'd love them, but not at $300. We love the ones for the doors and these could only further assist the temperature reduction in the hot south Texas summers.

For that price, you could apply a light tint to the rear windows for a lot less and get the same result.

Tint or shades IMO only helps actively - aka, as the sun is beating on ya as it's moving...
To some degree it helps while the car is standstill.

But a heat soaked car is a heat soaked car...
