Seatbelt buckle replacement or repair
My question is: can I replace the buckle part of the pretensioner from another BMW (I know someone has one from an e90 but the wiring is busted for the pretensioner) to solve the issue as I don't want to really remove the seat to replace the whole pretensioner. |

Good day!
I would imagine they make the buckle so that it is not intended to come apart... you might be able to dig the penny or dime out, but for $147 new, I'd just replace it... or I'll pull one for you today and send it your way! I think this is one of those things ya just gotta bite the bullet and do it right, just to be done with it and have peace of mind in the event a loved one borrows the X! What color is yours? Hmmmmmm... Sending this to the UK might be difficult! Apologies! I need to check the destination before offering to send parts... Cheers!

Try spraying "plastics safe" electronics cleaner in the buckle first. I had a rear seat buckle doing the same thing and it was just dust & debris that gummed up the mechanism.
