Ordering Rear Wiper Parts

Replace rear motor....while at it, I'll be adding the E70 arm

For those that have done the same....should I order a new grommet and retaining nut...Have not pried off the cap to see how rusty or not it is.

I went with a volvo XC90 rear wiper arm instead from a 2008 XC. It looks real modern and a direct bolt on wiper. If interested PM me with your email address and I'll send you a couple of shots for consideration.

X53Jay - If I read that thread right...did the ID of the arm nut mount need to widened up s bit to fit ? Mind showing a shot with the arm in the vertical position. Google infers the blade is 14" -- which is quite shorter than OE

PM me some updated pics. I wouldn't mind. I'm sure the whole forum wouldn't mind as well...

Parts ordered. Can't complain about the cost of the wiper arm cost.

Next up - until I wait till spring or can a fellow xoutposter lend me a space heater ;-)

Mind measuring your blade length ?
Pics. Did not order OE blade. Plan to just get 3rd party.
I'm thinking OE is 14" and we can probably go 16?

Sure thing I'll get some pictures up. It was a direct swap with no modifications. I was going to use the original nut from the BMW but the volvo one was much more stout. The wiper arm is about 19.5 inches from center stud to wiper tip end.
Clean and very modern.

What PN is that ?

Volvo PN 30699847 has been superceded by PN 31333470
How long is your blade ?
3470 - middle stud mount to blade arm length , it is 14"
In looking at where it bends, offset on tension, looks like 16" is a good length.

Another post in that other thread had a XC60, with a different PN of 31333448

I just ordered a pre-owned one from Ebay that had the same look as my wife'a 2008 XC90 R -design. I then put a new valeo blade on the arm and installed on the X5 and that mod was done. i just like the clean modern look that it possesses.

This is who I got my wiper arm from. They do nothing but volovs and are authentic. Erie
