REALOEM item 10 sold separately?

Hi cannot seem to see if this item which is the pdc sensor housing is sold separately.....part 10 is not actually listed, any ideas? could it be that you get it if you order a sensor from dealer?..

Good day!!

It is available by itself... Part number 51117009895, but it seems your production 11/2004 doesn't have this style front bumper... This parts page is using my 2002 4.6is VIN...

Cheers!!!

I looked at my 2004 and it has flush mounted sensors... Not the raised ones like on the 4.6is... Maybe someone can shed some light on the part that is between the sensor and the bumper... Or maybe it comes with the bumper...

Good luck!!

Cheers!!

Yup thanks the inner front sensors on my 3.0d are flush too, back to finding out the correct sensor part number now for the front.....as for the sensor housing I am not gonna worry too much, the current sensor with the housing is loose but not loose enough to fall out or into the bumper either...hopefully the housing is intact enough for me to re-use

When you look up parts in the database using your VIN (or build date)...and the item number in the diagram is grayed out...it means that the item isn't used on your vehicle...but is used on similar models or a different build date range.

In this case...it appears that some of the front sensors & supports are used by pre facelift...and others by facelift models.

Omodos...your facelift doesn't use the grayed out "supports" in the diagram...but you do use item #12 (two of them).

If you pull up the same diagram using an earlier build model...you will see that #4, #9, and #10 are used on the front bumper...but NOT #12. They use four #4s & need the #10 brackets for the two sensors that are used in item #9.

Your facelift's front bumper uses two #4s + two #12s...which do not require the (#10) supports nor item #9 in the diagram.

The parts that are listed in the part nbr index and not grayed out in the illustration are what's for your vehicle when using your VIN/build date. If the item is grayed out in the illustration and does NOT appear in the part nbr index below the diagram...then that part isn't used on your BMW.

I suggest going to the dealer parts department and ask for clarification or they might be able to help you over the phone.

Good thinking but they(the one dealer in tonw) have come to realise I use the realoem site and dont intend to buy from them and so they are becoming less and less helpful....thanks

Much much appreciated that you took the time to make it so clear, had no idea.....to be honest with everyone here would have been far easier if i had pulled the bumper (and so seen the exact layout of how the pdc sensor sits in the bumper-according to your info it must fit in a moulded housing or case of some kind moulded as part of bumper ) but have read the odd horror story re the facelift bumpers where the little tabs on the side near the wings break, and/ or the odd screw that just won't unsrew due to worn threads that I am dreading the attempt...gonna see if I can dig up a couple of more vids cos they are really helpful.....thanks again
