Guy seems like a real gem. I love reading CL posts where the seller insults potential buyers. He should be happy to get almost anything for that hulk of burnt out vehicle. Low ball or not.

If he wanted to get some real money out of it, he needs to put real work into it. Pull the drive train for the potential buyer. Then he could most likely get $4k for it fairly easily given the low mileage and recent trans rebuild.

Exactly.

Our plan was to spend 4-6 months building the best 4.6 you could and selling it or dropping it in a z4 roadster or e30. It's probably a good deal @ $2k still but I don't like dealing with crazy. It's why no matter how much fun redheads were to date I never married one. I never met the not crazy one. (if your significant other is ginger, you either fully agree or partially, let's be honest, disagree)

I mentioned during his crazy rant to us about low-balling and blah, blah, that he had told me it was just a "little fire"... F-n people man.

I know its easy to criticize the attitude, and this guy does sound like a putz, but if you guys don't deal on craigslist a lot then you have no idea how many stupid people call and ask stupid questions because they didn't read any of the listing.

I'm sure he's had people call up expecting to buy a complete running car for $2k. It happens to me all the time. I sell a lot on CL and you wouldn't believe the idiots who waste my time.

I married a red head. Then again, I drive an E53 so maybe crazy is in the blood.

I have a vehicle for sale on there now. Don't ever leave your phone number if you aren't ready for those kind of calls. I use CL's automated relay email service and weed out the losers. Only give my number to people who have managed to respond intelligibly and appropriately to at least 2 emails.

True. But a majority of his original ad was copy and pasted from a car and driver review. He is that Craigslist person.

In his last ad, he basically said Alpina made the X5 drivetrain and then the "M" division took car of the rest... In Spartanburg!?
