Hi Everyone,
I have a 2004, X5 4.4i SE with the air-suspension self-levelling kit and optional ride-height adjustment button on the dashboard. This button allows me to raise or lower the ride height of the car when it is stationary. I came to the car tonight, and drove off, as normal... and it felt crashy/weird. I stopped immediately, and had a look around the car and sure enough, the suspension appears to have collapsed. The back of the car is raised, and the front is lowered so that the arch is virtually on the tyre! My boys think the car looks well cool and should be on 'pimp my ride'! However, I myself am annoyed. I will, of course, book it in tomorrow into the local Beemer main dealer so that they may fleece me as normal... I've done a quick search and found many people have issues with air suspension. I need to rely on my car for work and can't be doing with the hassles. Therefore, does anyone out there know whether or not the car can be converted to the standard springs (that my previous 3.0d X5 used to have), and the approximate costs. Any help, greatly appreciated. Regards Atul
