Rear Window Regulator
Okay so my rear window regulator failed last night while out with the X5. Window went down but not back up just the familiar crackling sound. So my question is which brand of regulator have board members gone with. I see that URO premium markets a regulator with ball bearing operations and lifetime warranty. I normally stay away from the Euro brand but wondering if anyone has had any experience with this one. I figure the O.E. one has lasted this long so its not all bad to replace it with the same. Looking for thoughts. Please chime in.

Well after reading the results of the those that used by the E46 community, the URO premium regulator it appears that it is still just as cheap as their experience in the past has proven. So I 'll stay away form the Uro and probably go OE BMW

in my opinion my daughters e46 (I know this is an E53 x5 thread) her window got stuck down so I ripped here door pannel off and took the motor off the regulator and the plastic pully was broken which caused it to fail and it cut into the housing of the motor, in my opinion I would replace regulator and pully at the same time.

on rockauto.com can you buy the rear regulator frame (you re-use the motor from your assembly and its only about $50 if I recall correctly from looking at it a few weeks ago
