4.6is Trans Failsafe Prog
Just realized a while ago that my coolant "overflow" was leaking around the seams right onto the ABS module. It started going into failsafe about every 5 miles the last time I drove it. So I parked it, couldn't reach the plug to disconnect the ABS until I got the overflow out of the way. Got the new overflow in and disconnected the ABS module while doing that. No money to fix the ABS yet and wanted to test it out and see if that fixed it.
Been driving it for about a week to work and back (50 mile round trip). Been good for the last week. Till today, about 3/4 of the way there it failsafe'd into 4th gear again. Pulling over and turning it off then back on and it was fine. Then on the way home same results.
I had read that usually the ABS module died from the coolant and unplugging it to test usually verified that. Which it did for a week, why would it go back to acting up? Now I'm scared to replace the ABS module since it's acting up again with that unplugged. Any ideas?
