Replaced center support bearing, now I have a noise??

Last week I replaced my center support bearing that was completely shot and had lots of play. The new one is in drives great, but occasionally (once a day) it makes a noise like the bearing is going bad. Is there anything special I should have done when I installed it?? Is it possible that I need to adjust it? I really tightened the nut that joins the shaft together, how tight should it be?? Is there some sort of lube I was can use on the bearings?? Any help is appreciated.

Pelican Parts have a write-up on this job. They say to pre-load the drive shaft when installing it - and I've read that elsewhere too..

Thanks WPOLL,

That is the write-up I followed, I took the pre-load to mean that I move the mount towards the engine 1mm. Is this wrong?? The write-up did not have torq specs for the bolt that goes into the spline section. I am wondering if I over tightened that and am putting a bind on the bearing?

I think you pre-load the shaft, not the bearing. This would load the bearing in the opposite direction.

Here's the factory procedure...
